UKIWS Demonstrators – Pat Carroll

In his own words :-

Working as a builder/carpenter I have always loved working with wood. In 2002 I took my first woodturning class and was very quickly hooked. Been keen to try every type of woodturning I found myself drawn to hollow forms.

The sense of achievement from creating large forms made this a very enjoyable craft. With the influence of many great artists I am keen to explore the combination of texture and colour into my work today.

Beaded hollow form with finial

This project will demonstrate how to make a hollow form with basic tools. The form will be made in two piece and joined together, disguising the joint with beads. Using a beading tool the piece will be decorated with beads. A finial will be added to further enhance the piece.

Pat will be running his Masterclass on Sunday 16th July from 10:00am to 12:00pm
