Gregory Moreton RPT has been turning since 1991 and a member of the Register for Professional Turners since 1996. He is based in Surrey and has exhibited his unusual work at respect galleries and craft fairs.
He is able to teach and lecture to interested parties as well as beginner and more experienced woodturners. See his website at www.moreton.co.uk.
We are very pleased to have Gregory come and join us for the weekend at UKIWS in June and have pleasure in announcing his Master Class and public demonstration details to you today.
Gregory’s Master Class – Oyster Bowl and Pearl
The bowl is turned on three centres using his own specially made jigs.
The pearl is turned freehand in a traditional way using cup centres and when placed in the shell, tilts it at an angle as shown here.
We’re sure this demonstration will be one to watch! This Master Class will take place at 12:30pm on Saturday 18th June and will last up to two hours.
Public Demonstration – Natural Edge Tube Forms
For his public demonstration, Gregory has chosen again to do something out of the ordinary by showing how to make natural edge tube forms like these.
All our demonstrators are restricted to the use of a standard set of tools, plus a couple of additional tools a new turner might consider adding to their rack.
Gregory’s public demonstration is on Sunday 19th June at 2:30pm and is included in your entry ticket price.
